Texas Proper Dry Goods & Interiors

Texas Proper Dry Goods & Interiors was built with a deep love for home, heritage, and the kind of style that feels lived-in and lasting. Founded by Lisa Polk, born in Austin, mama to eight, and lifelong Texan: this boutique blends thoughtful design with a strong sense of place.

LOCALLY LOVED

From original artwork by local artists and well-made wardrobe staples to home goods with character, everything we carry is handpicked to reflect the spirit of Texas: STRONG, GROUNDED, AND FULL OF STORY.

We take pride in building real relationships with our customers and getting to know what makes them feel at home, in their space and in their own skin. You won’t find fast trends or throwaway pieces here. Just well-made goods, personal service, and a little bit of that Texas Proper touch.

LISA POLK

OWNER

Hi, I’m Lisa — owner of Texas Proper, proud Texan, and lover of all things timeless, bold, and a little bit unexpected.

What I love most about running this boutique? Hands down, it’s the people. There’s something truly special about watching someone light up when they find a piece that makes them feel seen, beautiful, and confident. Whether it’s something they've been hunting for or a style they never thought they'd try — seeing that transformation is what keeps me inspired every day.

A LITTLE MORE ABOUT ME:

I’m a mom to eight amazing kids (yes, eight!), and our big, chaotic family keeps life full of love and laughter. I cherish road trips with my husband, antique shopping solo (my therapy!), and soaking up the Texas sun — the heat doesn’t bother me one bit!

Thanks for being here. I’m so glad you found Texas Proper.
  • SAMANTHA MCATEER

    VIRTUAL ASSISTANT

My favorite part of being involved with Texas Proper is getting to work with my mom on something truly special. This boutique brings people together in such a unique way, and it means a lot to play even a small part in that.
I currently live in Florida with my husband and our four amazing kiddos, who I homeschool. Life is busy and full, just how we like it — but I’m definitely looking forward to coming back to Texas ASAP!
  • JOY FORD

    STORE MANAGER / STYLIST

Being part of this boutique’s growth and watching Lisa’s dream come to life has been incredibly rewarding. I love the shop’s unique character and the chance to reconnect with familiar faces while welcoming new ones. Helping customers refine their style—and encouraging them to step outside their comfort zones with fresh, innovative looks—truly makes my day.
I like to keep my hair routine simple—usually a baseball cap or a wig. My wig collection has become such a staple that one of my customers nicknamed me ‘Moira’ from Schitt’s Creek!
  • ROBYN CALZADA

THE SUNDAY STYLIST / SALES EXTRAORDINAIRE

I love building meaningful connections with our customers and creating an experience that goes beyond shopping. My goal is to make sure everyone leaves feeling confident, inspired, and like the very best version of themselves.
I’m also a professional visual artist and award-winning published illustrator. For more than 20 years, I’ve been blending creativity and storytelling through my art while running my own successful art business.
  • ADDISON ZEBOL

    STORE MASCOT / STYLIST

Texas Proper holds such a special place in my heart because it gives me the creative freedom to express myself through fashion. I love styling our customers and seeing the joy on their faces when they discover something that makes them feel amazing.
I’m currently attending Texas Tech, where I’m a proud member of Tri Delta. I’m studying advertising and one day hope to combine my love for creativity and connection in the world of sports.
